Homeschool Groups

I did TWO groups of home schooled children -(one in the morning and one in the afternoon) all in the same day! It was Homeschool Groupsinteresting how I met one of the mothers for this group. My mom and I were eating lunch at a local restaurant-- just after giving another grade school class a Titanic presentation. I had my very unique Titanic purse setting on the table beside me and it caught the eye of a family sitting across the aisle.

The mother came and asked me if I would show the Titanic purse to her kids as they had been "eyeing" it ever since they came in and sat down. I said sure, and let them look at it closely-she then asked me, very politely, of course-why I was carrying such a unique purse. I told her that we had just given a Titanic presentation to a class of school kids and she then asked me if I'd come and give one to her group of "home-schooled" kids.

We set up in a local church's gym for the day. Lots of parents came to the presentation with their kids. The age of tHomeschool Groupshese kids ranged from 5 to 10 years old.

Mom passed out the boarding tickets to the kids and they had fun looking up their Titanic person. I saw mom helping a few of the kids look up their Titanic name on the boards to see if they lived or died. I think they enjoyed studying, looking at the picture boards and touching an "iceberg'!! I told them the Titanic story, played a Titanic memory game, and then read them a story about the Titanic. The kids all sat on the floor around me. By the time the story ended, they were practically sitting in my lap! It was a fun, but tiring day, the kids were good kids, and I enjoyed it very much. I also got to meet new people and we've actually stayed in touch. Thanks for the invitation, Kym!!

That Titanic purse is a great "ice" breaker!!!   Click to read about the purse that launched a 1000 stares
