Meridian Friends Church Titanic Tea
This wa
s
a ladies only tea. Lots of lovely costumes here. This turned out to be a pretty good size group. It took
awhile for steward Latimer and her assistant to " board" them all.
They started their tea with a small class of sparkling water-in a glass according to their boarding pass. First class had a lovely stemmed crystal goblet-the 2nd class-- a less fancy smaller glass and the 3rd class (steerage) received their drink in paper cups. (Sorry 3rd class, but that's how it was in 1912!)
The whole Titanic crew worked at this large tea. This was the first time we used the big cardboard Titanic my husband and I made so I was excited for everyone to see it.
They had a photographer so all the ladies could have their pictures taken in their finest Victorian attire. I felt happy to be here but being as how it was one of my first large events-I was nervous. I didn't have my cd presentation yet so all I could do was tell the Titanic story as best I could. I still think they enjoyed the event however.
They served some delicious fingersweets along with the tea.
All very first class!!
